These images were taken using my Canon Rebel c EF 70-200 f4L and my new Canon 30D c EF 17-40 f4L and a B+W polarizing filter. I hired a guide from the Folkston, GA entrance to the Okefenokee and planned a dawn launch. The morning was cool with some fog rising from the black, still waters. The landscapes were wide and spansive, filled with reflections of the lush vegetation. The challenge in shooting the Okefenokee is in composition. Since everything is potentially a photographic subject, deciding what to shoot was my biggest challenge. In reviewing these images, they do not come close to capturing the magesty of my visit. Comments and critiques welcome. ~ jim
PS: For my next trip, I am taking my EF 100mm f2.8 macro and my Sigma 150mm f2.8 macro. I really needed these on the close-ups of the flowers. There were lots of macro subjects that I simply could not shoot with my 70-200.
Your usual stunning work!!! Each individual image brings to life that captured moment. Really makes me want to be there.....as a photographer you've certainly succeeded in putting me right there next to you...thanks for sharing...yvonne
