These were taken on one outting to Callaway Gardens, in Pine Mountain, Georgia ~ about 15 minutes from my home in LaGrange, GA. I started the morning at the newly renovated Day Butterfly Conservatory, where the flora are filling in nicely and the butterfly species on display is reaching the pre-renovation level. I am well pleased with the facility. Following the butterfly center, I spent an hour shooting the gardens surrounding the center. Then off to the Cason Callaway Vegetable Garden. While they certainly have vegetables, this garden is a bit of a misnomer, in that it is mostly flowers and herbs. I spent another hour shooting the insects of this venue.

All shots were taken with the Canon Rebel 300D with the Wasia Hack and the Sigma 150mm f2.8 macro and the Canon MT-24EX outfitted with a diffuser made of cotton wadding. All were shot in camera manual mode, f13, 1/200 seconds, ISO 100, mixture of manual and auto-focus and hand-held. All were shot RAW and processed in PSCS using my usual workflow.
