To start my workflow in PhotoShop, I like to crop my image first. This is an artistic crop ~ meaning I'm cropping the image to maximize visual impact ~ not cropping to a specific size mandated by the size of a standard frame. Once the crop is finished, we can turn our attention to optimizing specific areas of the image.
