resize2.jpg

I have just made one simple change to the dialogue box ~ I erased the height in the top section and typed 650. In the bottom section, we have a check in the box named CONSTRAIN PROPORTIONS. This simply means that if we make a change in the height of the image, a corresponding change will be made in the width ~ to maintain the proportions of the image. Nice feature huh? Of course, this also works vise versa with changes to width. It is also interesting to note that even though we did not make any changes in the middle section, the values here did change. This is basically telling us that if we make the changes indicated, the image will now print at 4" x 2" at 240 ppi. That's OK, since we are not really printing anyway ~ we are preparing this image for use on the web or for e-mail. Most web browsers don't look at the "document" settings anyway, they just display the pixels.
