HDR Merge

When the dynamic range of a scene is beyond the capability of your camera to record the highlights AND get the shadow detail, one must resort to post-processing to capture it all. For this high dynamic range scene, I set my camera to MANUAL mode and took a series of images, varying only the shutter speed to change the exposure. Of course the camera was mounted on a sturdy tripod. Once captured, the images were copied into one image file, then a variety of blending techniques were used to "blend" the best of each capture to contribute to the final image.

Here you see the finished product AND each individual image used to create the final HDR image. This should not be confused with a HIGH DEFINITION image, that is prepared in a similar manner but post-processed using special software that output a true HIGH DEFINITION image.
