One of the higher peaks visible from the East slope of the pass. The dark line is not highway but show shed protecting the railroad tracks from avalanches. Despite these precautions, the "City Of San Francisco" passenger train was snowed-in for several days in 1956 due to unusual snow volume. I remember that because I was on the pass skiing at the Sierra Club Lodge at Norden that year.
