Glacier National Park

In the second week of September we made our first trip to Glacier National Park/Waterton Provincial Park. We spent the first night at MacDonald Lake Lodge in pouring rain and set off the next day - in the pouring rain. On the Going-To-The-Sun Highway, we encountered intermittent snow which changed to a full-scale blizzard by the time we reached the summit at Owens Pass. A quick bathroom break and we were off immediately (after finding the car literally buried) for the East side of the mountain. In a few miles the rain stopped and we headed to Canada and the Prince of Wales. After two nights we headed South to Glacier Park Lodge and a day touring this most spectacular area. It was good to return home!
