Most of the city was destroyed by the fires of the 1906 earthquake.there are many heroes and
criminals in the days, as many homeowners didnt have insurance and claimed the neighbors home caused
their home to be destroyed (insurance fraud). politians also did not update the water system as promised but took the money (political fraud).The Firefighters were heroes Chief Dennis T. Sullvian.
