Joanita

Joanita was staying with some relatives at Dar. Consequently, we paid her a visit. So here is the luscious Joanita, serving us lemonade (or whatever). When we were in Standard 12 at the Saint Joseph's Convent School I was elected by my fellow students to become the "Head Boy" and Joanita to be the "Head Girl", to oversee the school Morning Assembly, etc. The Mother Superior (who was also the Principal) could not hide her surprise at my being elected. I was a non Catholic. Joanita, of course, was a good Catholic. Nevertheless we proudly served jointly for the whole year, 1960, and democracy prevailed.

Hi Mr samir!

We are young Zanzibaris still in the Islands, We really enjoy the old pics of KG V1 school, which is now Lumumba Sec. school. This the school where I completed my A'level studies in 1995 but It is sad that very little is said about this wonderful school and its mixed races students and teachers!...where is this Joanitha by the way I mistake her with one English lecturer of Goan origin at state university of Zanzibar. we have very few goan families stil living here!
