Please click "original" below to view the correct size. Each 1:1 crop was resized upwards using standard bicubic interpolation to match the 1:1 crop from the frame with stacked extenders. I.e. the crop from 600mm/4 is now being viewed at 280% (!!!) while that at 1680mm/11 is at 100% (1:1). A montage was then constructed and all sharpened together. Note: to get set for critical sampling (Nyquist) on a 1Ds one has to extend the 600mm lens to 5300mm f35! Only then can we be reasonably confident that all the details that this excellent lens is capable of have been captured, next slide.
