Just wondering. A holiday pic from Hawaii in 1980. All that we recall is that the above lady mentioned, decades before Obama's rise to fame, was that this chap was a "nice young man". Unfortunately the lady died at the age of 80 in the winter of 1998/99, so we are unable to ask her anything further. The closest images I could find of Obama around 1980 are those that had been taken by Lisa Jack and published in Time Magazine. See the next couple of slides, and you decide if the above is indeed Obama! How many Mulatto kids were there in 1980 Hawaii who just happened to be of the right age? Interestingly, this lady's daughter was also a postgrad in Anthropology (recall Obama's Mom...), married to a chap from East Africa (Zanzibar, not Kenya) and thus her grandkids were also Mulattos. Perhaps that may have induced her to chat to "the nice young man" and have their photo taken.
