We stumbled upon these 'babies' by accident. They
were bought for someone else who didn't want them.
We did not actually want pets, but ended up falling
for the charms of these two. Even though they may be
'just birds' their innocence and unconditional love is
a treasure impossible to measure. I do not like to see
animals in cages, but realize that this is the only life
these birds know. They would not survive the outside world,
if released. We try as best as we can to give them a good home,
and as much freedom as possible. Ookey & Buddy, dedicated to dear CP.
Looks to me like you are doing a great job with your 'orphans.' Don't feel too bad about their cages. Budgies are truly domesticated at this point, they would die on their own, even in Australia. You are their 'flock' and they have each other.
Lovely, touching words and photos Sam, I've had a few pet Budgies myself over the years. They are the most loving and intelligent of birds. Big Vote

Our abilities in life are only limited by the boundary from which they are confined. Caged animals can only grow so much. This is why we have the sky to spread out wings wider and the ocean so deep so we may swim a bit farther. We are all equal, sharing one Earth, sleeping under one blanket.
