Here's a girl with style and a sweet smile,
Ruby...Ruby Tuesday :-)
Tech Note: I took this shot using a classic lens
that is currently enjoying a resurgence
on the web, the Rokkor 58mm f/1.2, an old
Minolta MD mount lens, which I crudely
adapted to work on the Canon EOS 30D.
I did not do a full conversion as I
intend to use this lens on my old
film camera.
The soft look and 'glow' you see is not a
Photoshop action, but a result of the lens
itself. The lens was used wide open and its
abberations or 'imperfections' give it its
charm. It's not suitable for all applications,
but perfect for 'soft' portraits like this.
It also has very creamy-dreamy bokeh wide open.
The lens is nearly as charming as Ruby!
That is why it is a cult classic.
