Dear Mr. Robbins,
I am an artist and was wondering if I can use your Ethanol Corn Stock image for a reference for a painting I would like to do?
John B. Chandler
I wanted to comment on your midwest gallery but I couldn't find a way to comment for some reason. What I wanted to say is that after living in both high-density urban areas and in a very rural area, those who haven't lived in both don't actually realize how different the worlds are. I'm partial to the rural areas because of the relaxed slower pace but is nevertheless full of industry -- it's just more spread out.
I enjoyed looking through the very nice photos in the gallery for two reasons. One is that they are nice photos and the other is because they show the point I made above.
Nice monochrome gallery, I enjoyed it.
Ran in to you today at Franklin Creek State Park. I love your work!
Your bird photos are exquisite. Very nice work.
I wanted to paint some butterflies and needed some photos, thanks yours are astounding!
Loved your Nothing but wood gallery and also the Fungi. I will spend some more time soon to look at the rest. I look forward to it.
I'm the man, but you're the master. Master of beautiful pictures...
Your gallery is very impressive
I just want to thank you for the wildflower photos. What a wonderful resource. I was able to ID several flowers I saw on a hike today in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

Hi - I just came across your site - very nice work, especially your Midwest Farming and Rural Scenes.
have added you to my favorites list.
I don't know how I found your photos, have been looking at them for over 2 hours. Love your work. Everything I looked at was monochrome which took me back to my high school days in the 60's. Thank you for posting these and sharing them.
I especially appreciated the compositions and treatment monchrome gallery
Every day I look forward to the pictures you post on Facebook. Today I took a look at some of your bird galleries and the pictures are impossibly beautiful. Thank you for being so generous and sharing these wonderful pictures.
J'aime beaucoup vos images. Merci.
How would a person go about ordering and pricing some the the pictures?

It has been a long time since our paths have crossed. I hope this finds you and family well.
Is it possible I could use some of your pictures for my company's website? Communicate direct with me if you like at my email address or phone.
By the way, my brother Bill is in a nursing home in Chesterfield and not doing well.
Your photograph's are wonderful! I write in your guestbook to publicly thank you for allowing me to use your photo titled "Pastoral Lane" as the cover of my Family Genealogy Book. It turned out beautiful.....Thanks Again.
I enjoyed the Hennapin canal photos they were stunning and brought back many memories.
Great "Rocks" series, I really like it!
Enjoyed the birds and plant photography galleries visited. Lots of nice closeups. I noticed you camera, no wonder you have some great shots. I live ajoining the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in TN / USA. Search Gourley Garden
Leopard frog #1 is a pickerel frog.
I too was disappointed that there's no option to comment on individual galleries and images.
I was very interested in the Nachusa Grasslands restoration, and in particular the woodland/grassland transition - a fascinating environment. There are many ecological equivalents in my home country of Australia, particularly in semi-arid parts of the south, but once the grasslands have been plowed and phosphate added to the soil for cropping, the grassland flora is more or less irreparably destroyed.
Is fire important in maintaining the woodland/grassland transition?
I love discovering scenes from elsewhere that resembles scenes from my own place
And also the same object in the same place photographed by someone else, with his own vision of the subject.
Here is your photo from Illinois :
And here is mine from Québec :
I browse many times through your galleries and enjoyed them a lot and wanted to comment on some individual image, but you seem to have disabled that feature.
I don't understand because you did a very good job on all !?
Best regards ___Keep shooting . . .
Hi Tom, Great collection of fungi photos. Really like your lighting choices.
Just browsed through some of your galleries and enjoyed them a great deal. Wanted to comment on individual images, but you seem to have disabled that feature.
Tom, your flower photos are incredible. I carve and use both wood and metal to try and make exact replicas of flowers/plants. I have taken close photos but have never seen such great details as yours. Thanks, Jim
wow, had a great time seeing your wonderful work !!
Mr Robbins: I have pictures of a tree fungus that I don't think you have! I'd like to send them to you for your expertise in identification. Please contact me at email@example.com
beautiful photos. best for me - serie Nothing but Wood
Terry Hannan forwards your pictures you send him to me. I really enjoys your photos and have been on your gallery. There are alot of interesting things and sites to take photos of in the Midwest if you have the interest and the eye to look for it. I hope to see more of your work in the future.

I enjoy looking at your railroad and grain elevator shots. There are two grain elevators that are outstanding. The Utica elevator with the grain dryer working and the canal. The other one is the abandoned elevator with the corn field.
I shoot a lot of grain elevator out here in the west. Please take a look at some of my galleries.
Great job. Looking forward to other images.
Love the clouds in Morning Light. Looks like the day woke up a little angry
Great collection of galleries.
Thanks for sharing

Awe, is the word that comes to mind, and thank you! I am grateful for the stunning photos of the mushrooms -helped me id a mushroom I saw along the North Branch of the Chicago River Bike Trail just north of Touhy Ave. I will come back to your site to look at more of your artful photographic works depicting nature's marvels. Loving exchange through a camera lens . . .heartening and amazing. Thanks again!
Intimate water is a very interesting gallery with nice images.

Hi Tom, I was fascinated by the beautiful images in your "intimate Water" gallery.
Thanks for sharing.
Superb monochrome gallery, Well done!
Excellent B/W photography, great gallery.V
Just to let you know that I was touched by your Intimate Water gallery. Very sensual with a lot of great pictures. Dont find the way to vote or comment directly.
Just HAD to stop by to thank you for your site and wonderful work! Recently moved out of a half century of living in Chicago to the 'country' and awoke to an Osprey in my yard tree helping me enjoy my morning coffee from the deck. HAD to learn more about the birds in my yard and stumbled upon your site while searching for Midwest birds. THANKS! Wonderful stuff, which I plan to investigate much more. Cheers...
Stumbled upon your work trying to find the name of these large black birds we have in Kansas City these past 2 weeks. Loved your midwest winter birds and the summer and fall birds as well. I could see myself doing some kind of a collage with many of those bird images with perhaps the name of the bird watermarked somewhere on each image. It would teach me and the kids about our birds! And my MIL would love to have all the Vermillion images, as she lives near the Vermillion River. Great work! And of course, I had to check out Intimate Water gallery that everyone has raved about here. Loved many of those images!
I think we share an aesthetic, one of looking for intriguing patterns regardless of scale. You might enjoy some of my galleries of Vermont images, particularly "Boulder and Boulder", at www,pbase.com/copyeedditor

Your Intimate Water shots for me are fantastic. Keep up the great work.
time; just saw your 'Intimate Waters' gallery and was exremely impressed. Tried to leave message, but blocked out-your choise. Raeally love your approach--capturing details of the rivers and the waters. Beautifully done. Congrats!! Sincerely; Lee
Tom, Outstanding work. My favorites were the leaf and railroad galleries. The leaf images are very expressive, beautifully exposed too (which is to say, not over-exposed or too saturated). A wonderful, natural feel and excellent comp.
Fernando Peres Rodrigues
I enjoyed a lot your «Leaves» gallery. Congratulations
Your mushroom serie is excellent, top pictures ++++
Thank you for your inspiring work. Your "Intimate Water" gallery steered me in new directions, which ended in a winter gallery of water and ice close-ups. I would really like a critique of it, if you are able.
Tom, thank you for your photos, the boat Billy Joe Boling was named after my daddy. He worked on the Noble C. Parsonage until he died to be honest with you thats where he died.We never got to see the boat named after him and it would mean the world to me my mom and sisters if you could e-mail me any photos of that boat.I looked at your other photos they are breath taken to us river rats

Hi Tom, I've just been looking through your 'Nothing but Ice' gallery. Wonderfully observed and captured.
You have some wonderful galleries. Your monochromes are particularly pleasing.
Falling and Freezing, Fantastic shot!
Just looked at your intimate water photos. Wow wish I was with you on that photo journey. The water reflections with all the amazing color. The ice shots very abstract and different than others I have seen. Plus the captions make the photos more striking. Excellent! Peace Michael J
Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures of Gods creations!!!!
Excellent shots Tom.
It was nice meeting you yesterday at Mathiessen State Park. What a superb eye and artistry you posess! I'll be back often, Thanks for the inspiration!
"Windturbines" Incredable how fast these creatures have appeared along I-88. I took a detour off of I-39 down route 30. It's a new world.
Visit your site often. Keep shooting, keep posting.
Midwest Fungi, excellent gallery!!
I got your photos when I Googled, images for the Utica Elevator. I saw the elevator when I was stopping at Kelley's bar and restaurant in Utica last Sunday on my return trip from
my family reunion at Hickory Hollow Campground. I was wondering what the small cylinders were that recently have been added to several elevators and Utica was the only one that I saw closer than the passenger window in a car.
You have an excellent wild flower gallery. Both informative and artistic. I admire the sharpness, the light and the composition. Only selected high quality works. Congratulations. Jean-Claude.
Wow - a friend of mine directed me to your collection and I have to say being an ex twitcher you have some stunning bird photography here. The nuthatch is one of my fav birds yet I have never seen one - love the shot of the white breasted nuthatch. Keep em coming.
Your ice gallery is very cool!!!

Excellent mushroom pictures, +++
Interesting to see how a nature photographer can also be inspired by industrial architecture. A kind of contradiction I experiment too. So was I was particulary interested by the subjects you choose.
Tim, thank you for having "butterflies of the midwest" photos. We have more of them this year than usual and I was stumped on a couple! Appreciate it!
