A red granite mountain range in the E Grampians, Bennachie rises to a height of 528m (1733 feet) 5 miles (8 km) west of Inverurie in Aberdeenshire. It comprises the distinctive tor peaks of Oxen Craig, Watch Craig and the Mither Tap. The Mither Tap o' Bennachie (518m / 1698 feet) is flanked by a a stone-walled fort dating from the Iron Age.
