Spoke with this man today while on a call for service with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. He was keeping a deer as a pet, complete with leash and collar. Apparently this particular variety of deer is also a protected species. The deer was taken to a rehab facility where it will learn to be a deer again so it can be released back into it's natural habitat.
