Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, Russia. The center of Tatar culture, Kazan is located at the confluence of the Volga and Kazanka Rivers in European Russia, is the largest port on the Volga and included on UNESCO's World Heritage List. Tatars are Turkic speaking people of Central Asia and Eastern Europe.
