Siberia! It's large enough to fit all of Europe and more. It starts from Ural mountains on the west to the Pacific Ocean on the east where we ended our train trip at Vladivostok. Siberia is rich for her huge deposits of coal, gas, oil, timber and strategic minerals. The largest cities in Siberia are Novosibirsk, Omsk, Krasnoyarsk, Tomsk, Kemerovo, Novokuznetsk, and Irkutsk.
9288 km across Siberia from Moscow to Vladivostok. More kilometers were clocked as we entered Ulan Baatar/Mongolia via the Trans-Mongolian route. The journey started for us at Moscow's Metropol Hotel, once a government building in the Art Nouveau style and within walking distance to Red Square. Russians claim that Russia is not Moscow or St Petersburg but a glimpse of Siberia may reveal the Russian soul and her hardy people.
