Tucson has a revived area of little unique shops which reminds me a bit of the East Village in NYC years ago.
El Guerno Canelo (Strawberry Blond) has road food with a strong Mexican touch. Check out the grilled whole scallions in the condiment tray.

El Torero has a great lunches and a delicious crispy taco "pizza" with cheese and chiles.
