Message from Kneebone
Welcome to a little insight into the lives of Ken Kneebone, Karla Kneebone, and Kelly Kneebone through photography.
My name is Ken Kneebone, a native Kansan, and contact person for this photo collage. I was born in Pittsburg, attended elementary/high school in Neodesha, married Karla Toothaker, earned a Pharmacy degree from KU, served 3 years active duty in the US Navy, then we returned to Neodesha with son Kelly in tow. I currently split my time between Lenexa, Neodesha, and a travel trailer.

I am a picture taker as opposed to a photographer. I have had zero training, however, over 3 decades ('70's, '80's, and '90's) I created 1000's of images on Kodak slides. These images document the activities, events, and reflections of life in Neodesha. In addition, you can experience the travelogues of Ken and Karla, childhood adventures of son, Kelly, and share memories of our extended family, the Porters, Toothakers, Figges, Edwards', and of course, other Kneebones. I would be amiss not to mention our other extended family, the many close and dear friends in Neodesha, who included us in ski tips, vacations in California, Bay Lake, Grand Lake, and the parties.

Bad News: Ugh! I was a poor steward of the slides, as they were stored for decades in garages, attics, and basements. The toll of temperature, mildew and moisture have compromised the image quality. Also, remember that the age of a slide diminishes quality and many are over 50 years old. To continue my poor stewardship scenario, many images (even entire trips or events) have been lost or misplaced.

Good News: Yeah! I toiled over six months to complete the organization and scanning of nearly 3,000 slides to digital format. THEN, I contacted fellow Neodesha friend, Darren Livingston (a real time photographer) with a question, Now what? Fast forward to 2019. He viewed, uncluttered, formatted, and edited the thousands of slides. More good news! He only posted 100's, not 1000's to PBase. His contributions to this project were technically remarkable and the dedicated input totally unexpected.

All images are available to everyone to download or reproduce for personal use. Remember that a home for my slides and attached memories would not have been possible without Darren. https://pbase.com/darren58

Please enjoy!
