Early settlers on the prairie built their homes of this durable, readily available material. This one was built in 2004 and offers a cool resting place for hikers.

Excellent composition and a treat to see. I remember hearing about soddies years ago, but the only photos were black and white and pretty faded. Nice to be able to actually see one. v
