Leah's Jewelry Box

I built this jewelry box for my son's girlfriend on the occasion of her birthday and college graduation. This is made from Cherry and the inlay pieces are maple burl from a burl my uncle Paul harvested for me. I had the burl resawn into many thin strips and it has found its way into many of my projects, including the guitars.

What a lovely jewelry box! If my wife sees this, she will have to have one. The craftsmanship of the wood carving is remarkable. You just don't see such high quality products these days. It is a little big, though. I don't know that I would ever be able to fill it for my wife.
