In May 2000, the Cerro Grande fire near Los Alamos burned out enough of the watershed above the Los Alamos reservoir
that following monsoon rains the next several summers destroyed the reservoir dam, which needed to be reconstructed.
The new reservoir is nearing completion, and these are pictures of the final stages of construction. The
new reservoir is currently filling up with water.
