On the Eve of Nyepi: Balinese New Year

Ogoh-Ogoh, large papier-mache monster sculptures, are made by men in Bali for the eve of Nyepi, Balinese New Year, when they are paraded in the streets and then later burned. Nyepi arrives as a day of complete stillness across the island, no noise and no lights and no going out, a day of meditation to mark the New Year.
