Wings Over Illawarra 2022

A fine airshow about 100km south of Sydney at the Shellharbour Airport. HARS is located here and the event is managed by Bright Events.

This event was the first Airshow that I have not used my trusty Canon 7D Mark II with the Canon 100-400 L IS II lens. I used an OM-1 with 300mm F4 lens for in flight images and an Olympus E-M1 Mk ii with the 40-150mm f2.8 lens with an Olympus TC-14 x1.4 teleconverter for formation flights and ground images.

Australian airshows tend to be Autumn or Spring events when the ambient temp is >25C so heat haze is an issue with long telephoto lens, especially when on the ground.
