MV Pasha Bulker

The MV Pasha Bulker ran aground at Nobbies Beach north of Newcastle in NSW on 8th June 2007 and was refloated on 2nd July 2007.

The Pasha Bulker is a coal transport and this is shipped to Newcastle from the Hunter Valley. Much of this is shipped through Maitland which hosts the Hunter Valley Steamfest. https://pbase.com/russelltunny/trains .

These images were taken on the 10th June 2007 and it was a popular tourist spot until removed from the beach. The drama of removing the ship from the beach with over 400 tonnes of fuel oil was a regular story followed by the media.

An excellent history of the Pasha Bulker can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MV_Pasha_Bulker
