Banded Huntsman

Timmallallie National Park, NSW, Australia view map

P9105467Resize.jpg
This was taken inside an unlit toilet at Timmallallie National Park. Its location forced me to have my nose close to a drop pit toilet to get this photograph. The things we do for photography!!!

Huntsman spiders are a non aggressive group of spiders. But if bitten, whilst mildly toxic, it is usually just a deep painful bite to humans.

This spiders body length was about 20mm and front to back legs about 50mm.

Focus stacking done in camera from 5 frames

Guess Huntsman's don't have a great sense of smell then ? Cheers on the brave shot so close to the drop pit..
