English Electric Canberra TT.18

Illawarra Regional Airport, Albion Park Rail, NSW, Australia view map

Airshow of vintage warbirds and current RAAF assets by HARS.

RAAF 2 Squadron operated the Canberra until 1982 when it was replaced by the F-111A. This particular aircraft was ex RAF but was restored and painted in 2 Squadron, A84-234, paint. It is the sole non Martin WB-57 variant still flying. Aircraft now owned by RAAF, but operated by Temora Aviation Museum at Temora.

The engines have been modified to electric start as the original explosive charge start is expensive and the technique is no longer used operationally to start jet engines

Great to see the old Canberra in flight again. I recall seeing their last flight over Melbourne in 1982(?).
