Lake Windamere is on the Castlereagh Highway approx 40km south of Mudgee. Mudgee is a wine growing region of Australia that produces red wine in a style that suits a BBQ'd rare steak.
Lake Windamere is one of the more interesting locations on the drive from Sydney to Mudgee.
Early morning is a great time to photograph here, especially in cold winter mornings.
Unfortunately roos are plentiful onthis stretch of road and care is needed to avoid hitting these at speed. They don't have a lot of road sense.
