This is the disk label. The drum has been cut out for the center of the CD.

Front cover of booklet which acts also as front of jewel case and back of booklet insert
The CD cover was printed on an 8 page booklet. What you are looking at is the printers layout for the front and back cover of the booklet that also serves as the front of the jewel case and the inside panel of the jewel case when you open it up. Esentially it is page 1 and 8 of the booklet.

CD label
At first this was to be the front cover but it was later decided to make it the label on the CD itself because the shape fit so well. This is actually a composite of several photos to get all the expressions right. Several heads were traded from other photos. At one point I made a full frame of grass in photoshop and used it as a layer underneath to move people around on.
The shot was taken on a golf course. I was on an 8' ladder with the camera on a tripod that I held out as a boom with the camera pointing straight down. The idea here was to show the kids in an egalitarian way so no one musician would be emphasized.
This was the first shot of the day and one of the mothers was late by an hour and a half. All the other kids were there waiting with me so I couldn't leave even though it was a cold and windy day and I had the flu. By the time the tardy one arrived I was beat.

Front Cover
The Rosebuds are a teen group that plays Celtic music and this is their first CD. I have taken them from the golf course to the top of the mountain nearby.
This photo has had a good deal of editing with heads swapped people moved around and so on. It was almost impossible to get them to look alive and get everyone to look right at the same time so this too is a composite of several photos.
The lady in the middle who is a teenager on the inside is the music teacher. She has done wonderful things with the kids and for many in the community.

Inside
The sun is going down, we have moved from one side of the mountain to the other. The wind is blowing and cold. The flu is declaring victory.
I took them into the red failing light for a different look and as a farewell photo on the back cover but they prefered it to be on the inside leaf with acknowledgements for all who had helped them with the project.

Back Cover
I told them this was the last one and this is what they did. They headed for the pizza parlor and I headed for bed where I whined for a couple of days.
