We hit pay dirt today with lots of help from a fine archivist at the Cape Girardeau County Archive Center. The headlines are that we saw the homes where my Grandfather and Great- Grandfather lived and the graveyard where the latter is buried. We also found some leads to pursue to find information on my Great-Great Grandfather.

The weather here is beautiful. Trees and flowers are blooming, and the Mississippi at the “Trail of Tears” State Park had dramatic views. (see below)
