August 25: SP Friday

Encinitas, CA

My friend Kathy took this last night. She has decided join us and to post a picture a week. I am encouraging you all to go to her site and welcome her to our community.

BTW, the camera was not set on RAW, and I’m discovering it is very difficult to get correct color balance with indoor lighting using jpeg, so I decided to make this one black and white.

Canon EOS 5D ,Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM
1/50s f/4.0 at 82.0mm iso800 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Excellent portrait and obviously works great in B&W. Terrific job Kathy.

That lens has the typical "L" series sharpness. Good to see you this morning, buddy!

black and white is good so I think the fact that you had to convert it works well all around. Besides this is an affably warm shot of you and I like it.

What a fantastic portrait. As a SP it is even better. Perfect lighting, a superb exposure, brilliant composition and a fabulous tonal range. A beauty. Well done.
