February 12: Sunday Morning

Rancho Bernardo, CA

Day 4 of 7 of dual subjects

The Cross is about 500 yards from the tree (which has been trimmed of its branches to prepare for Spring.) Again DOF was a problem. I wanted the foreshortening reach of a long lens.

The tree last fall looked like this:

I have been up and down that mountain countless times. I can recall the time when my Dad dropped his cell phone and we went back two hours later looking for it! We eventually found it.

I like this. The tree looks huge in this photo but not in the smaller one.

I think this image works better as it is.

This photo uses one of my most favorite photographic styles. The juxtaposition of these two subjects is really great. I am not sure I understand the DOF problem you are referring to?

You may not have gotten what you had planned but this one is my fave of the new challenge.
I think you got perfect dof for the image.

When you think of the simularities of the cross and the tree, this image gets pretty strong.

I love this! Love the detail in the wood and the slightly out-of-focus cross in the background. Well seen!

Excellent composition Robin.

Very nice. I like the dof...there's just enough to give the cross it's own identity too.
