The Wave

La Jolla, CA

Gosh, it doesn't seem that long ago we were all agog about the turn of the new Century. Now in its fifth year, or sixth depending on how you count; it is coming to an end.

Hopefully the waves wash away some of the horror of the year. The human suffering worldwide this past twelve months has been dreadful. Let us pray and hope that nature will be kinder to us in 2006. I'm afraid, however, that man's inhumanity to mankind will not lessen.

In this country we can anticipate spreading scandals in our Congress, a decline of confidence in our Institutions, and more partisan bickering.

I take considerable solace from how I experience people on this site. Collectively we photographically document our lives which consist of good will, family orientation, and caring for each other.

So let the waves of the past roll over us and break against the shore. Let us retain our Faith, Our Hope, and Our Love.

My warmest best wishes to you all for a New Year that supports your hopes and dreams. – Robin

Funny isn't it Robin, that for a whole lot of people the year will be remembered for the devastation and loss of life due to natural and manmade causes. Hoping for peace within ourselves and nature in the New Year.
Happy New Year, Robin.

A stunning (and fun!) image Robin! And even more important and profound, your thoughts and sentiments! Thank you for those! One of the biggest blessings in my life this year was joining Pbase, and making the friendships I have on this site! My hope and prayer for all is a healthy and happy New Year!

That is a very moving sentiment, Robin.
I believe the people we meet on this site are a true reflection of humanity.
The people portrayed by mass media are the irregulars, the oddities, or manipulators of the world.
Here, we are our own media. We show real life; and you are one of my favorite reporters.
All the best in 2006 and beyond.
