I thought about this overnight … both the meal and the shot. It doesn’t feel very creative; however it does tell the story. Would you prefer the version below?

Prefer this one. It looks so...ready to eat. Great shot. Food is not an easy subject.

Yes I cooked this myself. And it was GOOD. Ironically I had put syrup on it, but it soaked in too fast. ;-( ... So I missed that effect.

Just need a little hot Real maple syrup sinking into the bacon, maybe another 'little' helping of butter between each of the cakes, and I'd be there.
Comp wise I prefer the closer view, hunger wise the top.

I like both of the photos.. :o)
The first shot has a nice lighting and good presentation of the pancake and the second one is focused more of what is being served!
