Mississippi Bridge

Minneapolis, MN


When we we out on the little photo shoot of downtown Minneapolis the other day, Lisa said that we had to see the river (I guess she had been there 2 or 3 time already!). So she led me down the long slope from the hotel to the mighty Mississippi where it divides the city of Minneapolis from Saint Paul.

The hike was well worth it and of my "city" shots this is by far my favorite. And when I saw this I thought of Margaret Bourke White!

Or do you prefer in B&W like she did it?

Reminds me of The Iron Giant, a kid's movie about a robot. Very nice contrast and composition, interesting too!

If I have to vote I'll vote for the b&w...but that sure is a beautiful blue sky. I like Laine's idea, and you have to photograph each other tossing your hat.

Quite often, I like B&W, but the similar colors between sky, pipe, and window definately come through for a better shot on the color. Great frame, great shot!

I like the bottom one. It gives the sky more impact...!! So tell me which one of you is going to play a Mary Richards ( aka Mary Tyler Moore ) & stand on the corner tossing your hat in the air :>)

I do like it in black and white. I lived on the St. Paul side of the river many years ago, on a high bluff. It was a nice connection with home.
