The Pass

Atop Independence Pass, CO

Today we headed East past the Maroon Bells and Aspen and crossed the Continental Divide over 12,095 foot Independence Pass. Awesome views all day, and the pass is spectacular.

We have seen so many incredible vistas that we have almost felt overloaded by the views. I thought I'd end this week of touring with a slightly different treatment.

I used a polarizing filter and converted the image to black and white in the camera. The sepia toning and photo corners were added in Photoshop.

For me this is an iconic view of Wynn (Bandito) wearing sandals, shorts, and a big smile. He really loved our touring and has become a real friend.

For more views, some quite breathtaking, see the new additions to my **my trip gallery.**

Nice treatment Robin - and thanks for the nice photo. I'm glad I didn't break your lens - you would have made me pay for it! Independence Pass is certainly one of the most beautiful places in CO, isn't it? Damn cold, though - and not much air up thair.

The treatment is just right, Robin, and it is so nice to put a face to a familiar Pbase name.

Like your treatment. Sepia has lent itself well to that great sky & it's a good shot of Wynn.
