August 2: Sex, Lies, and Videotape

Colorado Springs, CO

Sex: I was born in that hospital that rises several stories on the lower left. However at the time I think it was a tent or a tepee! ;-)

Lies: Seldom shown by photographers extolling the virtues of the Front Range are the two scars created by **open pit mining ** on the face of the mountains.

Videotape: Film at 11 ;-)

Oh, the mountain is Pike's Peak @ 14,110 feet.

Very nice shot Robin. I like the dramatic clouds.

Thanks for the info,
Pikes Peak is almost as high as Whitney!!!!

LOL! Your comment is hysterical. Beautiful CO shot.

I think what I like best about this shot Robin is the mountains dwarfing the ground. It is sort of an amazing sight and well captured by you.

What a view for a newborn...My only experience of Pike's Peak was in a heavy fog, and the drive up scared me to death. Hope to get back and see it properly. Until I do, this image is beautiful, Robin.

the hospital is ideally placed if you fall down the mountain heheh

Nice view... that sure is one big mountain!

@ Bandito...yes that is Barr trail above timberline. Quite a hike!
Guest 03-Aug-2005 00:11
Very nice shot - what a beautiful, dramatic view. You have so much resolution in this, you can see the criss-crossing trail leading up the side at the top, above timberline. I remember it being called the Barr Trail? Or is that just the lower section?

OMG Robin, you never fail to make me laugh! And yes, that's Pikes Peak...I'd know it anywhere. I rather like this shot as it gives justice to that size of that 14'er that just juts straight up out of the ground. Well done.

Great shot

Very pretty shot, Robin. Your first view of the world. I thought your title would read "Sex, Lies and Women" before I hit the full view button.
Johan Toll02-Aug-2005 22:20
Fantastic view! I like the shadows too, very nice!
