March 9th: Sunset and Departure

Alice Springs Telegraph Relay Station

We are in a bus most of Wednesday morning on our way to Ayers Rock. Doubting that I’ll be able to post from there, I humbly submit my last PaD for my first year of Picture-A-Day a touch early.

I am proud to say that I have not missed one day in this process! This was done despite a long road trip to Oregon, a week in San Juan PR, a week in Colorado, consulting trips to Phoenix and Ventura County, and this long Elderhostel trip to New Zealand and Australia.

My heart has been touched by the friendship and comments from all of you who have stopped by. I am truly a fuller person in many ways as a result. I have learned from the excellent work you all post on Pbase, and I have grown in my photography skills.

Thanks deeply to all.

Is there a post PaD for Robin? Stay tuned!!! ;-)

Lovely shot. I was in Sydney mid-April and already miss it! Thanks for bringing back the memories- looks like you had a good time!!!

How did I miss this mark of accomplishment? Congrats Robin, in my book, this is an awesome feat. I'm so glad that you're continuing.

Congrats Robin... I blew past my one year anniversary, and didn't even know it.... I forgot when I started! Hope to see you still going... I am for now... I don't know what I would do without having to take a picture daily..

Gorgeous shot, Robin -- one of your best. Congrats on the first year of PaD, but remember, it's a five year commitment, not a one year. Of course, they only tell you that after the first year. Now on to the sophomore year!

Wow, Robin! All the miles-figuratively and literally- you've travelled during this yearlong journey. You are an inspiration, and glue around here, and I also hope you've got something up your sleeve for Y2R2(Year 2 Robin :}
Standing and applauding.

Beautiful sky!

I for one am pleased that your last pad image for this year is of one on " my turf " I would like to take credit & say I asked for a special sunset for you, but I cannot tell a lie...it's like this everyday, but never will it be captured as good as this one...
Have a good visit to the rock. The telegraph station is an important part of " the bush "

you around here, won`t we!??

Nice shot - I like the roo touch!

Nice sunset, what's with the roo in the circle? Is it an attempt to replace your seagull?
Looking forward to the Ayers Rock pictures.

Hope to see you around Robin!

I hope that you are not going to be leaving the Pad community, Robin.

Great "sunset" on your year, Robin. You will still post, won't you? At least some times. This place wouldn't be the same without you!

really gorgeous sky, Robin.. I'll take a tour of your Australia gallery .. I'm supposed to be going in 2006..

What great work yo do, I've enjoyed watching.
My year is done this Thursday and the timing is just right. Yesterday the I.T. Department at work blocked PBase as they said it is "personal pages" and not work related.
I'll have to make my last 3 posts from home.
It's been a great experience for me too.
Take care.
