February 14: Valentine’s Day: The Marriages

Sue Reid (nee Titus) was an Associate Professor of Sociology at Cornell College where I served as an Associate Dean of Students for nine years. We had a good life in tiny (3000) Mount Vernon, Iowa. Divergent interests and careers divided us at the end. Sue now lives in Jackson, NH where she is a prolific writer of Crime and Criminology textbooks while commuting weekly to Florida State where she currently teaches.

Sue and I stay in touch and have remained good friends.

I met Ellen Ketter (nee Ketter) at a workshop in Boston. She was a child welfare social worker in Canada. She moved here from Toronto and became a sales manager for banking services after getting her MBA. We had a terrific marriage, but somewhere along the line it changed for her and she left. Ellen has remarried and lives in the area.

Ellen and I have no contact.

Interesting photos both -- the one on the right looks very 50s, doesn't it? Oh so bittersweet it seems. Well it is for me when I look back at my lost loves. Happy Valentines day to the most authentic person I know.

Nice to see your younger self Robin; a little bittersweet to look back, I think. (For me it is, anyway.) Happy V Day, regardless.

Fine tribute to "all the girls I've loved before", to quote Willy. Willy also said each new wife got a better husband.
Your next will get a gem ! ;o)

Good looking young man in those days, Robin.
Maybe some woman will dance into your life and sweep you away again, but
for now you seem happy and make great photographic images for all to share.
Take care.

I hope you find that soul mate you deserve, Robin. I will leave a lighter message for you. I may lose my mate after tonight. You'll understand when you read my message.

Very Creative...! Nice to see that your hair line hasn't changed a bit..! :)

This is a creative idea for Valentine's day. That said, these images make me sad. So many marraiges start out like this -- happy and full of promise and hope, and end up, well, unhappy. It is nice to see YOU, Robin, at an earlier age. You haven't changed a bit, you handsome devil!

I'm not sure if this is a happy or sad image?? Either way, it's cool to see the different decades!!
