May 21: Fifth Decade - 1978 to 1987

The retrospective countdown continues, and I am spending a lot of my time becoming more buff in preparation for the big FULL MONTY shot on May 26th.

See yesterday’s notes for info about the meaning of that image.

Today we have a die set at five to represent my fifth decade of life 41 to 50.
The King is smaller, however it represents that I was very successful in my work
The photo on the left catches my marriage to Ellen. She was the love of my life and the only woman in my life during this decade. And when she left she broke my heart.
And that is a thinner me in the center enjoying time in the outdoors with Ellen.
I wasn’t real wild about Ronnie for President, however he dominated the politics of the period.
At the top left the logo of the City of San Diego represents my main employer of the era.
The flag is a reminder that we enjoyed living in the great State of California.

I like how this is going.

This is a cool idea, but I've only got 4 decades to do and rubber duckies and teddy bears would predominate in one of them. And then school.

I am enjoying these to the point that I do not want to see the big day! Takes me back as well.

Cant stop time however.

I am liking this series alot! This is a great idea. Can't say that I am getting excited about the "full monty" image looming over all us Pad-ers... Yikes!

Hmmmm...so you're not a "natural" blonde. ;)
