This is a class assignment: photograph close-up several times (using a tripod) setting focus each time to capture each plane from front to back. Photoshop has a feature that aligns layers and aligns them for focus. Cool huh!
Exactly Don. You said the way it is done. A tripod is essential, keeping the same f/stop is must, and taking 3 to 5 shots at different focus its is the core the technique.
In Photoshop then load as layers, align the layers for position and then blend then as one stack.
I don't understand the plane thing. Keep same f stop and then take series of images at different focus points then merge layers? Am I on the right track? Outcome looks sharp how ever you did it.
You have eclectic taste....and I want the St. Francis and the armidillo...although I get pretty angry with them for rooting up my flower beds looking for bugs.......bet you got the kiwi on you trip to N. Z. !
