Merge to HDR

Rancho Bernardo, CA

Nothing fancy here … just a shot of my Den using CS3’s “Merge to HDR.” It did a pretty good job. (I combined 5 different exposures into one shot) My buddies in class think Photomatix from HDRsoft is the way to go. Do any of you use HDR????

you've got enough space to swing a cat!

Hi Robin. I'm a big admirer of your posts.... HDR; Photomatix wins hands down over CS3's Merge to HDR function. Photomatix just allows more and precise control over combining the exposures with regards to levels and saturation. You can always fine tune in CS3 after preparing in Photomatix. Nice job here too.
As you know, a solid tripod set on a solid surface are mandatory to prevent blur.

RE HDR ... it stands for High Dynamic Range. ... the ability to combine light ranges beyond the normal capacity of the camera. In this picture using ti I was able to show the inside w/o blowing out the outside shot.

You have a very nice den. Do you ever use your fireplace?

I see you moved my sleeping bag out of the way.
