I broke with my tradition, and used flash liberally (except in a few cases).
Things were so crazy, jam-packed, with intermittent slam-dancing,
"distracting" anyone wasn't an issue. Flash = "cheating," though. So easy with flash.
It was too loud! I hate when the club does that... I value my hearing.
Two days, my ears finally have stopped ringing (or at least approached baseline level).
Hopefully this isn't the beginning of a disturbing trend at Maxwell's
(sound mixing was better in the past, it didn't have to be LOUD to be good).
Ira K, where are you??? (Dumb question)
That said, the band hit the mark. It was clear that they were into it.
Sweaty people dancing, thrashing around, just great.
Hi Grape, thanks for your comments, and that info. We have earplugs, but it seems to be so long since the decibel levels have climbed that high, that we neglected to bring them (I should have mentioned above). Mistake. (I noticed that Maxwell's sold them, but that was by the end of the show, after we retreated from the front.) I guess it's best to always be prepared. Thanks again.
