Here's a crack at using the Minolta Dimage 400 for some rock concert photos.
Flash wasn't used because photography is frowned upon at this venue.
Oh yeah, I hate to use flash in this sort of situation anyway.
Most exposure times were in the 1/8 to 1/10 second range (held my breath and waited for the right moment when subjects weren't moving much, before squeezing shutter release).
The Musical Box are a Peter Gabriel - era Genesis re-creation band, supposedly duplicating a concert performance, with the same song order, costumes, rear projected slides, etc. The exception being that pyrotechnics weren't used, as in the original shows, no big great white surprise there. This was part of the tour for the re-creation of the Genesis "Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" tour. Incidentally, TLLDOB premiered in NYC exactly 30 years and 2 days (December 9, 1974) before this performance (December 11, 2004).
The titles of the photos correspond (mostly) to the songs being played. They are arranged chronologically, in order of the concert (can verify via EXIF info);
note, there is a big temporal gap between the first image and the others. The EXIF information is accurate, except the actual time is 1 hour earlier.
There are some nice concert shots here. I do remember Peter having the shaved spot in the middle of his head during some of this era represented. I was a bit young at the time but I remember seeing photos of him like that. I also remember the flower outfit he was photographed in. Nice images.
