-—› Aptly named, the great orange tip butterfly bears bright white wings that are marked with an orange area along the upper
edge of the forewings. It is the largest of all the whites in India. It is abundant in forests, hills, and in areas of heavy rainfall
and rare in the open plains. It has a strong and swift flight, always flies high above the ground. It is very difficult to locate
when settled on the ground as it resembles a dead leaf because of the brown or reddish cryptic patterns on the underside
of the wings. It visits flowers and damp patches. It is an avid mud puddler, actively following the river system.
