Scientific Name: Kallima paralekta,
Common Name: Indian leaf (aka - dead leaf)

-—› This genus, Kallima, are among the butterfly species that can appear as dead leaves for protection and can settle among
dried leaves to make their disguise more effective. It is virtually impossible to spot when resting in a pile of leaf litter.
-—› The colors for this disguise are on the wings underside and are all that is visible in the folded position it takes upon rest.
However, when in flight they are brilliantly marked and fly with power in a zigzag manner.
-—› When it closes it's wings it looks like a rotten leaf, hence its name, but when veiwed from above it`s brown, orange and purplish blue.

-—› Its range includes the many countries of India, Pakistan, China,Taiwan, South Asia, New Guinea, Ceylon and Madagascar.
