Katrina Victims Arrive in Nashville

I took these shots today when the first military plane arrived at the National Guard armory bringing victims of hurricane Katrina from New Orleans. It was truly heart breaking to see the condition these people were in when they arrived. Numerous physicians and nurses from Vanderbilt were on hand to triage the victims and then send them on to area hospitals. Once this plane finished unloading, it was heading back to New Orleans to pick up a second load of people and then tomorrow morning, one more load is due to arrive. This flight carried 106 people and if the other two carry approximately the same number, Nashville will receive over 300 hurricane victims.
