6 Mar, firefighters responded to a structure fire with possible entrapment Friday evening in the 600 block of Sycamore. Arriving on scene firefighters encountered heavy fire conditions showing from the front and rear of the structure. Occupants were able to escape the flames through the rear of the home. Firefighters were able to control the fire confining to the center of the structure. The home did sustain heavy smoke damage through and extensive fire damage to the living room and kitchen. Two occupants were transported to the hospital with cuts, burns and smoke inhalation. An investigation of the fire revealed that an occupant on oxygen struck a match to burn strings off of clothing. The burning match and oxygen enriched environment rapidly ignited clothing and other combustibles in the area.
