I went into a framing shop today and saw a strange machine... I couldn't figure out what it was doing. I finally asked the shop owner. I will show his answer tomorrow.

I worked in a frame shop for a couple years

It looks like it is etching carvings into wood? Interesting, will have to follow up tomorrow for the answer!
